Quality Dart Boards

Dart boards are made of cork, sisal, paper, and synthetics. Regulation-size targets measure 15.5 inches - commonly, the board is about 18 inches in diameter. Cork and sisal are used for bristle dart boards. Repeated punctures deteriorate cork, but sisal (used in making ropes) is constructed so the dart lodges between the fibers without creating holes. Wires that form demarcation lines cause bounce-outs, so some dart boards have spiders imbedded inside the board so the demarcation lines are visible but do not cause bounce-outs.

Magnetic Dart Boards
Magnetic dart boards bring the fun of traditional pub games to the home or office. Magnetic steel-tipped darts throw like regular darts, but without the points. Some magnetic boards roll up for travel and have double-sided play areas. There are no bounce-offs because the darts are strongly magnetized. Paper Dart Boards
Widdy has been recognized for two styles of dart boards: a hand-made, traditional tournament-style wooden dartboard made from basswood, and a dart board made from very tightly wound paper. When darts hit the paper dartboard, the points lodge between the paper layers rather than puncture holes. Unlike wood boards that wear unevenly, paper dart boards are slower to wear out. Widdy puts a playing surface on both sides of their wood and paper boards. If the colored paper markings are slightly off, scoring can be slightly difficult.
